Ectropionis a condition in which your lower eyelid turns outward. In severe ectropion, the entire length of the eyelid is turned out. In less severe ectropion, only one segment of the eyelid sags away from the eye.

Ectropionis divided into five broad categories:

• Spasmatic ectropion develops along with infectious disease of the eyelids and conjunctivitis
• Paralytic ectropion appears in cases of nerve neuropathy, due to the weakness of the circular muscle.Paralytic ectropion is caused by decreased orbicularis muscle tone supporting the lower eyelid
• The atonic reversal of the lower eyelids in the elderly ages, due to natural loss, age, circular eye muscle tone, atrophy and other acne
• Reversal of the lower eyelid as a result of a wound caused by a trauma or burn
• The ectropion is usually associated with watering and skin damage. The conjunctiva is dried up and diluted. There are many opportunities for infectious processes to develop, for a damaged cornea or corneal wound (keratitis)
• Ectropion can be treated only by surgery!
